Phuket is 400 miles (640 km) south of Bangkok & 600 miles (960 km) north of Singapore. Both are connected to the Phuket International Airport by 20 direct (1 hr) daily flights. Entry Visas: are not required by tourists from most countries, for a stay of up to 30 days in Thailand. Passports should have a minimum of six months remaining, before the date of expiry.
Generally speaking, the golf courses are playable all year round. There are no severe tropical storms or hurricanes at any time of the year. High temperatures average 30c (85F); Lows average 24c (75F). Sunrise is between 6:00 a.m. and 6:30 a.m., and Sundown around 6:30 - 6:45 p.m..
The most popular times for teeing off are either early in the morning so that you are starting when it is cooler, or early afternoon, so that you are finishing your round when there is usually a breeze and the temperature is a little cooler. We recommend that golfers apply sun block when golfing, even though the sun may not be shining, and to take plenty of (non-alcoholic!) liquid refreshment.Further details of Phuket's climate, and maps and photographs of Phuket, together with advice for travellers to Thailand, may be found in the following pages. For maps and photographs of Phuket, click here.

Please note that Golf Orient, whilst being European managed, is a Thai company, employing Thai staff. We aim to provide a high level of quality, personal service.
More detailed information on golf in Phuket follows.
The golf costs quoted on these pages are effective March 2007. The fees are the same for week-day or week-end and throughout the year.
There is no need to show handicap cards at any of Phukets golf courses. Dress code is not strict but most clubs expect visitors to wear golf shirts with collars (not tee shirts), short or long tailored trousers (not jeans), socks and golf shoes (these may be hired from the golf courses at Baht 250 per round).
Visitors to both Phuket Country Club and Loch Palm Golf Club must wear "spikeless" or "soft-spiked" shoes for golf.
Golf carts ("buggies") are available only at Loch Palm, Blue Canyon (Lakes Course) and Thai Muang Baht 600 per cart per round. One person per cart only at Loch Palm.
All caddies in Phuket are female. At ALL courses visitors are required to take caddies whether or not they take a golf cart. Some players have two caddies, one to carry the clubs, and one to carry a sun umbrella, chair, cool drinks etc.. Caddie fees are Baht 250 per caddie per round. Normal tip is around Baht300 per caddie.
Some of the golf courses make a nominal charge for persons accompanying golfers, but not playing.
Finally, why not let us arrange a soothing traditional Thai herbal massage for you after golf!
