Phuket is becoming known as the new Asian Hot Spot for game fishing! The surrounding waters of the Andaman Sea and the now legendary Drop Off, west of the island, are home to some of the world’s most prized game fish.

Record breaking black marlin and sailfish are attracting keen anglers from around the world and the area has been the focus of a number of TV documentaries including the well-known Rex Hunt Fishing Show from Australia. Other popular local catches include tuna, wahoo, dorado, barracuda and giant trevally.

The annual Phuket Sport fishing Tournament in early November also attracts teams from as far away as Germany, Belgium, Hawaii and New Zealand.
