Danang Golf Club rests on loamy soil near the famed China Beach and offers up broad fairways and liberal landing areas without the proliferation of water hazards typical of SE Asia golf courses. On-course out-of-bounds is practically nonexistent adding to the overall links feel of this championship layout where dealing with the winds bracing in off the South China Sea can be hazard enough.

Tee shot sight pictures can lull you to nonchalance until you realize that being in the fairways is not enough. You have to position your tee shots with the next shots in mind because the bunkered and undulating pin placements favor a single feasible approach strategy. If you do for some reason miss the ample fairways you will find yourself on sand strewn with long needles shed by sea pines that pretty much preclude anything other than a recovery layup back to the fairway.

Wind is often the major factor here on central-coast, Vietnam golf courses. When you have wind with firm fast fairways and greens it becomes more difficult to position tee shots and approaches with the kind of accuracy this course rewards. Golfers experienced in links play will have a decided advantage on this course when the wind kicks up, which is more often than not.

The soil and turf conditions favor bump and run approaches as well as using the flat-stick from well off the greens. Creative shot making is a real plus so when you play here you can ask your self, “What would Seve do?”
