Krung Kavee was opened back in 1995 by leading Japanese course designer Manabu Sakamoto

who has more than 40 championship golf course designs to his credit. Financed by a large housing estate, Manabu has compensated for the fairly flat terrain, typical for many Bangkok layouts, by adding some lengthy holes to add to the challenge.

At 7,082 yards the par 72 course is great for the long hitters, as he has created over six par fours running at over 400 yards. However he has also offered four sets of tees giving all level of golfers different playing challenges. Luckily you’ll find about 50% fewer bunkers here than on most courses in the region, and water is hardly an issue, coming into play only on the par three 9^th hole which is an island green playing 190 from the blue tees, 85 yards from the front. It is the number 17 handicap hole, meaning it is the second easiest on the course, which is comforting after playing the most difficult, 470-yard par four 8^th hole.

One interesting, if not peculiar, element to the design of this course is its back to back par three holes as you end the front nine and start the back nine; holes nine and ten.
