Cascata

is around 50 minutes northwest from the city and just 35 minutes from the airport. Expansive rice fields border the course on the north and south and the entire area is generally flat. However designer Dr Thanawat Saprunrueng has managed to create over 36 very interesting holes.

First they opened in 2004 courses A and B offering a tropical golfing experience with many tropical plants and shrubs around the 18 holes. C course followed in 2007 offering players a tropical links style challenge and finally they added D course in 2014 with creeks and valleys with even more elevations. On some of the holes here you get the feeling you are playing between a narrow mountain and then on other holes you play through the valley.

The layout averages between 8-12 feet above sea level, punctuated by more than 75 sand traps, which is not as many as on some courses, but the sizes of the bunkers at Cascata are considerably larger than one normally encounters.

Their par 3 number 4 on the C course was awarded one of the best 18 holes across Thailand.

Despite the interesting design and fine condition, Cascata is rarely crowded owing to its 36 holes, making it an ideal venue for Bangkok residents and tourist golfers to reserve tee times quite easily even on weekends. The natural park-like surroundings and clean country air ensure that a round here will be relaxing and pleasant. Cascata Golf Club is well worth the short drive out of town.
