The Dancoon Golf Club is a mere 15 minutes drive from the city centre of Khon Kaen, and using a football term, ‘Is a course of two half’s’. Totallying 6,949 yards from the back tees or only 5,545 yards from the red tees, the front nine is easier, with a more interesting and slightly harder back nine.
Opened on what was originally open and basically flat farmland back in 2008, Dancoon has generous fairways but with a few bare patches, especially in the dry season.Their rough is fairly easy with the shorter grass, and fairways and rough are sometimes fairly hard to separate on some holes.
The greens at Dancoon are of average size with a number of undulations and slopes to test your putting skills. Bunkers are well sanded and water comes into play on ten holes, with a signature par 3 island hole to impress.
Overall Dancoon is a simple layout where apart from a few water hazards, you will hopefully come home with a good scorecard.
