A true country course East of Bangkok and approximately 50 minutes drive from Suvarnabhumi airport, this Gary Player designed course is well worth the drive time. Player’s layouts tend to be very precise with nothing left to chance, and Lotus Valley is no exception.

Opened back in 1998 the original Gary Player layout was redesigned in 2008 by Jon Morrow (designer of Red Mountain and Riverdale) and Turf Pro Golf’s Craig Bertram, keeping the original routing, and enhanced by Bertram’s re-shaping of the green complexes. Lotus Valley re-opened to rave reviews and has gained in popularity for those expecting top quality conditions.

Four tee boxes on every hole really make this four courses in one. Mr. Player really understands how to configure a layout and tees to interest and challenge a serious scratch golfer while showing the golfer with challenges of his own a good time. When you are on a Player track, and Lotus is no exception, you feel as though you are in a big painting or on a magnificent sculpture. Everything is so balanced and is exactly where it belongs and that applies in spades to the water features. The water looks like it belongs how and where it is. It doesn’t look put there even though it was.

The few trees on the property allow wind to prevail unchecked much like the old courses on the links land along the eastern coast of Scotland. The terrain is also similar to those traditional courses with only 14 feet of elevation change across the gentle swales and burns.

At the end of your round, a modern clubhouse awaits with fine locker rooms featuring one of Thailand’s only Japanese baths…great for a wonderful way to unwind regardless of how you played. The Lotus Restaurant gets good reviews for a full selection of Thai, Japanese, Chinese, and Western dishes.
