Song Be Golf Resort is named after the original province, which is now named Binh Duong, and in Vietnamese song be means little river. The little river in fact starts at Hồ Dầu Tiếng Lake in the Núi Cậu Mountains and remains somewhat small as it passes Song Be Golf Resort, then grows as it snakes south and becomes Saigon River leading from downtown Ho Chi Minh City to the South China Sea.

This resort style layout features 10 lakes with water coming into play on eight of the 27 holes. The tenth hole presents a challenging tee shot between two of the lakes. Mature trees line the average-width and sporadically-bunkered fairways. The Song Be greens require careful reading to catch all the breaks and they contribute to the overall difficulty of this Vietnam golf course .

Playing the blue tees is a challenge as the total length measures over 7,000 yards. Song Be is a walking course and all the caddies are female as usual in SE Asia.
