The President Country Club has now recently changed its name to Suvarnabhumi Golf and Country Club and remains one of Thailand’s finest golfing experiences. Opened back in 1993, American designer Robert Trent Jones Jr. created 36 holes of natural beauty, with outstanding course maintenance and a superb challenge in a serene environment.

Located around 60 minutes South East of Bangkok, the course is also only 25 kms from the Suvarnabhumi International airport.

The 36 holes are laid out in a very picturesque landscape typical for this region where there are flat paddy fields, open marshland with migratory birds and many fish.

Their North East course is a fraction shorter than the South West course, however don’t worry , both tracks will test your skills.

Each hole being quite distinct in approach from all the others with water hazards come into play and strategically positioned bunkers around the greens means every shot has to be spot on. Even the shortest par 3’s present a serious challenge to players of all handicaps, but with four sets of tees, this extraordinary golf course can be appreciated by all skill levels to a day of unforgettable golf.

The Suvarnabhumi Golf and Country Club has many wide fairways, but on a Trent Jones track this may be an illusion. Wide fairways can give you plenty of room to land your tee shots but that can work against you by making it easy to get in the wrong places for approaching greens. And attacking the flag is a key factor to scoring well at the President.
Tough wiry Bermuda rough tends to swallow golf balls, and when found, often forces the golfer to opt for a defensive shot. Most greens are protected by deep greenside bunkers and getting up and down is no simple task. The greens run fast and true, but have subtle contour changes.
