Nestled amidst the picturesque Northern Thailand foothills just beyond Chiang Rai, Happy City Golf Resort sprawls over 1200 rai, offering a distinctive golfing experience as the world’s only 29-hole course. Established by Korean owners and locally designed and constructed by Thai golf professionals, this resort comprises three unique 9-hole courses: Lakeside, Mountain Breeze, and River. Additionally, two maintenance holes seamlessly integrate course enhancements without disrupting play.

Since its inauguration in 2012, Happy City Resort has evolved, with significant enhancements like new tree plantings in 2013 and the transition to Bermuda grass in 2014, enhancing the course’s aesthetics and resilience. Most holes at Happy City Golf Resort feature elevated tees, winding fairways, and challenging approach shots over water, with each course presenting distinct challenges.

The Lakeside Course, encompassing the first ten holes, boasts numerous water hazards and sand bunkers, demanding strategic play and precision. The Mountain Breeze Course, comprising the next ten holes, offers wider fairways, inviting more aggressive play, while the final nine holes, The River Course, pose the highest degree of difficulty with greens set on peninsulas or islands.

Happy City Golf Resort features unique touches, including a pineapple grove between holes and signature holes like the par-3 13th Texas hole and the par-3 16th replicating the map of Thailand. The clubhouse, conveniently situated over the finishing greens of the Lakeside and Mountain Breeze Courses, offers a range of amenities, including spa facilities, a driving range, and themed on-course refreshment stands.

While service and playing conditions could be improved, Happy City Golf Resort remains a viable option for golf enthusiasts exploring the Chiang Rai region, offering a distinctive golfing experience amidst Northern Thailand’s natural splendor.
